What type of blender works best for vegan smoothies?
We love our high powdered Vitamix because of the ability to really blend the ingredients. We know that the price point is high on that.
So, our second favorite blender that is well within most people’s price range is this Ninja Professional Kitchen System (watch it for sales, it’s frequently ran for $99).
Do vegan smoothies usually have a lot of ingredients?
All of the recipes we’ve included in the best vegan smoothies for meal prep have minimal ingredients. The most is just seven ingredients.
You don’t have to have a lot of different things to make something taste great.
Minimal ingredients also saves you time and energy on already busy days from having to grab a lot of things.
What is the best way to order your ingredients inside of a blender?
The most preferred way to add ingredients to a blender in order to preserve the blades is to add liquid, dry, then frozen ingredients on top.
This way, by the time the blades come in contact with frozen ingredients, it has already starting blending a good amount of your smoothie.
What is the best way to prep vegan smoothies ahead of time?
There’s really two different ways to make this happen.
The first way is that you can prep the entire smoothie and put it in a glass or bottle that has room at the top. When you go to drink it, pour more dairy free milk of choice onto the top and shake it well to combine.
The other way is our preferred vegan smoothie meal prep way.
Place all your ingredients, except the liquid into a freezer safe container. Leave in the fridge until you are ready to make. Then just plop into the blender with your liquid and blend. It’s ready faster and you don’t have to worry about it getting thicker.
My vegan smoothie is too thick? How do I fix this?
If your smoothie is too thick, then you have two options.
Place it back in the blender with a splash of liquid. Or, you could also just add liquid to your cup and shake vigorously
My vegan smoothie isn’t a bright color after awhile, what happened?
When the air hits the smoothie, it can change the color over time. There’s nothing wrong with your smoothie and it’s still safe to drink.
Do these best vegan smoothies contain allergens?
We do have some allergens in our smoothies. But they can also be omitted.
The blueberry coconut has coconut and cashews. While it would no longer be a coconut smoothie, you could swap the coconut out for another dairy free milk, omit the coconut shreds, and replace the cashews with maybe a protein powder.
The tropical smoothie has the same allergens, so refer to the one above.
The kale smoothie only has coconut water, so just replace that with a dairy free milk or regular water.
The mango avocado and triple berry vegan smoothies can use any dairy free milk so use your favorite (oat or flax maybe). It also has cashews that you could swap for a protein powder.
What is the best vegan vegan protein powder?
I’ll be upfront that we haven’t tried every single vegan protein powder that is available. However, we have found one that we really like and that is the Vega brand.
If you are omitting the nuts for allergy reasons, or you just want to increase the amount of protein that you are consuming, then I would highly recommend this brand.
