What vegan frozen dinner brands did we try?
While we did try out 4 different brands, we know that there are even more out there. Because there are so many we only did the ones we found at a local Target. The brands that we did find and try are:
- Healthy Choice
- The Tattooed Chef
- Purple Carrot Frozen Meals
- Amy’s
If we didn’t feature your favorite, let us know so we can in a future video!
How did we do the vegan frozen dinner taste test?
It was really quite simple.
We cooked each frozen dinner according to the packaged instructions and then ate them as close to the finishing time as possible for the most accuracy.
We were looking for mostly taste and texture.

Thoughts: Again we liked both of these. We had the burrito bowl before so we knew we liked that but did comment that the serving size was small. The power bowl was a bit spicy for Larisha. The power bowl was also really good and filling. These were the cheapest in price out of all the options we tried.

Purple Carrot Frozen Vegan Dinner Review – Maple Chipotle Veggie Bowl
Thoughts: This is the most whole foods based one and honestly with all the brussels sprouts neither of us were sure we’d like it. But we were shockingly surprised by how much we liked the bowl overall. It was more savory with just a hint of sweetness, which we really enjoyed. Has a much cleaner ingredient list than the others.
Where to Buy : We bought all of these at Target

Tattooed Chef Plant Based Burrito Bowl Frozen Vegan Dinners Review
Thoughts: Overall we liked this one and would buy it if others weren’t available. It did have a kick of spice to it for Larisha, but not as spicy as the Healthy Choice burrito bowl. We liked that there was vegan cheese in it since that lacks in many meals. Larisha said that the cheese was slightly off but not overpowering. The texture of the meat was really nice compared to some others.
Where to Buy : We bought all of these at Target

Who was the winner?
All that waiting just to get here and see.
The Beyond and Impossible were our favorites. Beyond for Larisha and Impossible for Andrew.
For a great “healthier” version the Apple Maple from Hilary’s is a great option though more crumbly than traditional sausage.
Whole Foods and Jack and Annie’s (for Larisha) were also great options.
We would NOT recommend Meatless Farm or Morningstar Farms.
Debbie Glenn
Hi, is there non-dairy potato or lasagna frozen meals?
Larisha Bernard
We’ve seen non-dairy lasagna. I think Amys?
