We found 10 Wegman’s meat substitute options, all vegan, and we tried and tested them. See our opinions, get ingredients, and price lists and more.
Store brands are adding more and more vegan options to their list of store brand goods, and Wegman’s is no exception. We recently went to our local store and found 10 different vegan Wegman’s meat substitute options. Of course, we grabbed them all so that we could taste test them!
All of these were found in their frozen section.
We aren’t sure if every store is set up the same, but our store has a cooler and frozen section opposite of each other that carries all the vegan products so it’s super easy to find.
Bonus, is that the names are super cute. For example, the chickenless products are “Don’t be Chicken” and the beefless products are “Don’t Have a Cow”. We thought this was super fun and quirky!

Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the prices for Wegman’s meat substitutues?
The veggie burgers (all three options) were $4.99 for a box of four patties. They were on sale for $3.99 when we bought so keep in mind that they do go on sale.
All other products, yes every single one, was $4.19 per package.
We loved that the prices were all under $5 a box or package. This makes these products very affordable for most people that need quick but safe vegan options.
What are the allergens in Wegman’s meatless options?
All of the veggie burgers are Top 8 Free. They do contain sunflower oil if you are allergic to that.
All of the other meatless products contain both gluten and soy.
How do the products taste reheated?
First, we didn’t get reheat all the products. Only the nuggets, when we still liked and the meatless burgers. We were not a fan of the meatless burgers reheated, so we recommend eating those quickly.
Do these products need to be thawed first?
No need to thaw first. For all of the Wegman’s meat substitutes, including the veggie burgers, none of them need to be thawed. You can cook them straight from frozen out of the package.
What are Wegman’s meat substitute options:
Wegman’s Organic Veggie Burgers
All the veggie burgers were crispy on the outside and soft, but not mushy on the inside which we really liked. There is also a black bean burger that we didn’t try in this video because it was out of stock when we purchased.

Thoughts: Larisha thought these were too chewy, but Andrew said he actually liked that about them and reminder him more of meat based meatballs than some other brands.
Wegman’s Don’t Be Chicken Chickenless Products
Both the chicken products were overall winners for us more than any of the other categories.
Meatless Chicken Style Breasts

Thoughts: Really shocked at this product. It was very comparable to an unseasoned chicken breast cutlet which would be great to season and spice up and use in a variety of ways. Would absolutely buy this product again
Meatless Chicken Style Nuggets
Ingredients: Chick’n (Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Canola Oil, Textured Wheat Protein [Wheat Gluten, WheatStarch, Vitamin E], Vegan Chick’n Seasoning [Tapioca Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Maltodextrin, Salt, Gum Arabic, Natural Flavors, Grill Flavor, Citric Acid], Methylcellulose, Yeast Extract, Natural Vegan Flavor), Vegan Breading (Wheat Flour, Sugar, Yeast, Expeller Pressed Sunflower Oil, Sea Salt), Vegan Batter (Wheat Flour, Wheat Gluten,Corn Starch, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Leavening [Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate], Salt, Sunflower Oil).

Thoughts: We liked these a lot. Larisha said a little more seitan flavor than she’d prefer but overall would rank them up with Morningstar and Alpha which were high on the list during the vegan chicken nugget taste test. They were thick, had a nice crunch on the outside, and reheated well also.
There is also a 40oz package available which is almost 4x the amount in the small bag that we tried for $12.99.

Thoughts: These did not turn out well for us. We said it may be a user error, but more so thought that this product needs to be in a sauce or mixed into something and not cooked on its own. It was very crumbly and dry.
Meatless Sausage Style Breakfast Patties
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Structured Vegetable Protein (Isolated Soy Protein,Wheat Gluten, Wheat Starch), Seasoning (Sugar, Yeast Extract, Salt, Spices, Torula Yeast, Garlic Powder, OnionPowder, Citric Acid, Spice Extractive), Soybean Oil, Soy Sauce (Water, Soybeans, Salt, Alcohol, Wheat),Methylcellulose, Wheat Gluten, Malt Extract, Cellulose Fiber, Beet Juice.
