WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BAKING AND ROASTING?
Baking and roasting can be confusing, especially if you are new to being in the kitchen. Essentially, they are somewhat the same; however, just a tad different.
Roasting refers to cooking something, usually in an open dish, at a temperature higher than 400 degrees F.
CAN I USE OTHER TYPES OF VEGETABLES NOT INCLUDED?
Absolutely! Roasting vegetables can refer to any type of vegetables. You want to bake in the oven over 400 degrees F. Usually between 400-450 degrees F.
Vegetables are done roasting when they are softer enough to be pierced with a fork.
CAN I MAKE OVEN ROASTED VEGETABLES TOP 8 ALLERGEN FREE?
There are no Top Allergens when you make oven roasted vegetables.
HOW LONG IS OVEN ROASTED VEGETABLS GOOD FOR?
For the most part, once your vegetables are roasted, you can let cool and then choose an option:
- store in the fridge for 3-4 days in an air tight container
- for garlic and peppers, store submerged in oil in an air tight container in the fridge for 10-14 days
- store in the freezer (in oil or not) for up to 3 months
CAN I MAKE ROASTED VEGETABLES WITHOUT OIL?
Yes. You can make roasted vegetables without oil. Just omit where it calls for it. Starchy vegetables can benefit from a spritz of water before going in the oven.
Alternatively, you can make roasted vegetables without oil in an air fryer.
