We’ve made vegan marry me tofu at least a dozen times and the Tuscan vibes are perfection.
I recently had a thought of just wanting the sauce, but thicker so it’s more of a dip consistency.
The results is this incredibly creamy vegan marry me dip that it’s just so freaking good!

Vegan Marry Me Recipe Ingredients
Gather your ingredients!
Silken Tofu
Silken tofu allows us to have a creamy base without using something that is ultra processed
Substitute: A can of white means like butter beans or cannellini would be a great substitute. Alternatively, vegan cream cheese will also work. You will want to make sure it’s room temperature to make it easier to mix.
Sun-dried Tomatoes
Have a very concentrated tomato flavor that bursts in your mouth. The chewiness of them also adds a texture component to the dish. We’re using a sun-dried tomato in oil.
Substitute: roasted grape or cherry tomatoes could be an alternative or fresh or canned tomatoes – it’s just important to note that you may need to reduce the liquid in other areas or you may not have as concentrated flavors
Tomato Paste
Also a concentrated tomato flavor, but this is for the purpose of not having to add extra liquid from say canned tomatoes or juicy fresh tomatoes that would make a watered down final product
Coconut Milk
A canned coconut milk is what we are using. This mimics heavy cream very well, which is what is used in non-vegan versions of the recipe.
Substitute: cashew cream or a thicker plant based milk would be a sub or a vegan heavy cream.
Plant Based Cheese
This is used for a cheesy, salty flavor to the dish. We’re adding both parmesan and mozzarella to achieve this.
Spinach
Adding some greens to this dish adds in additional nutrition while also sticking with the Tuscan vibe of the dish
Substitute: You could also used chopped kale as well.
Spices
We are using a variety of pantry basic spices for this recipe as both a rub for the tofu and in the sauce

WOW WOW WOW – this is my new fav tofu recipe!!! I have been slowly moving to 100% plant based cooking and Ive never been a fan of tofu. My dog has been the recipient of several of my previous recipe attempts. This one is in the tofu winner for me! Just shared it with all my friends – none of whom are plant based. Cant wait to hear what they think. Thanks again. Already perusing your very well organized and informative site for my next meal 🙂
Wow this is amazing! Thank you so much for giving our recipe a try. We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed it!
I made this recipe for a “Dips-Giving” event at work today. I have shared the link for the recipe to at least 5 people now. It was easy to make and was easy to serve. I had it in a crock pot on low to keep it warm and I set out slices of baguette for people to dip with. It was so great!! Thank you so much for all the great recipes!!!
OMG first, I LOVEEEEE the idea of a dips-giving…that’s so genius! Secondly – I’m so glad it was a hit.
This was absolutely creamy, delicious and satisfying. My partner is lactose intolerant and I have been missing gooey dishes like this one. Easy even for me who doesn’t like cooking.
So glad you found it easy and you both enjoyed it!
