VEGAN CHOCOLATE CHIP QUICK BREAD INGREDIENTS:
Below are notes about the ingredients before we get into the full recipe located lower in this post on how to make this chocolate vegan zucchini braed.
- Flour – We are using all purpose flour for this recipe
- Dairy Free Milk and Apple Cider Vinegar– When combined, these two ingredients mimic buttermilk which is the flavor that we want in this recipe.
- Vegan sugar– We add a little sugar since these are supposed to be sweet biscuits. If you want to learn more about why your sugar may not be vegan, you can learn more by clicking on the link.
- Baking powder and Soda– This is helping us get the rise we need from the flour when baking and the baking soda is helping in that as well
- Vanilla – helps to enhance the flavor
- Applesauce – Our egg replacer for the recipe
- salt– do not omit here, the salt helps to tighten the gluten strains, but also really brings the flavor out
- chocolate chips – We love adding Enjoy Life minis for this recipe

SUBSTITUTIONS AND VARIATIONS:
- Flour – Can use gluten free 1:1 flour blend

Firstly, I love how easy this was to whip up with a quickness while I made another of their recipes for dinner!
Secondly, my kiddos like sweets like most kids, but don’t like when things are “too sweet” and often don’t finish desert style foods that are too sugary or rich. They definitely prefer savory. This was the PERFECT desert recipe for my family and they each ate a whole slice (my 10 year old ate a little more than that).
Definitely pinned this one, and will be printing it and adding it to my little binder of favorite recipes when I finally remember to replace my printer ink! 😆
Thank you for sharing this! We are so happy to hear that the Vegan Chocolate Chip Quick Bread was easy to make and that it was just the right sweetness for your kids. It sounds like it was a total winner if everyone enjoyed a whole slice (or more!)
We love knowing it has earned a spot in your favorite recipes binder. Thank you for taking the time to let us know and for the fun story about the printer ink too!
My son is vegan, and I want to ensure I respect his choices. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting a delicious meal. 🥰. This recipe was amazing. And. Every other recipe I have tried is perfection. From the savory meals to desserts, just amazing.
Thank you so much! We truly appreciate your support!
Couldn’t be easier. I’m not a confident cook and lazy with cooking too! This was an absolute pleasure to make AND eat haha! So easy and turned out really well (cooked a little longer after testing and was perfect). Particularly like that there’s no oil in this recipe, a lovely treat with the perfect amount of sweetness but without the greasy finish…. YUM!
Thank you for sharing your experience! We are so happy to hear that the Vegan Chocolate Chip Quick Bread was easy to make and turned out perfectly. Your note about it being oil-free and not greasy is exactly what we hope for. A sweet treat that feels lighter but still delicious.
Family favorite and this is a keeper in the rotation. Great to make for new parents, neighbors or friend meal.
Aww thank you so much!!
Greetings! I’ve been watching your videos on YouTube and trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle, especially when it comes to vegan pastry. This quick bread was outstanding. I added a little orange zest to the flour, and it was divine. I will make this again.
Thank you so much! We’re always happy to hear when our recipes help other on the journey to a healthier lifestyle. And love the idea of the orange zest!
Any tips for if the bread isn’t cooked through in the middle? Does metal vs glass loaf pan make a difference? Thanks
Absolutely yes, pan material makes a big difference: metal heats faster and bakes more evenly than glass. With the limited information, I have here are some tips that might help: you can lower oven temp slightly and bake longer. Keep a close eye on it and tent with foil if browning too fast on top but still undercooked or raw inside (use a knife or toothpick to quickly test before you stop baking). Lastly, Let it cool fully before slicing as it continues to cook a bit as it rests.
This was so moist & Delicious! it was super simple to make & everyone Loved it! Thank you! It’s hard to find good wfpb recipes without oil! I’ll definitely be making this often!
So happy it was a hit!
