We’ve outlined everything on Chipotle’s allergen menu that is vegan. Check out our Chipotle’s vegan guide to see everything that is vegan at Chipotle.
Just because you’re vegan doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to enjoy fast food. Sometime’s it’s also necessary if you are out and it’s the only thing near you.
Background: Chipotle began in Denver, Colorado in 1993. It is one of the biggest American Mexican inspired chain fast food restaurants worldwide with almost 3,000 locations. Most of their locations are exclusively in the United States, however, they also have expanded to Europe and Canada. Chipotle is one of the most vegan friendly fast food restaurants out there.

IT’S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IN ANY RESTAURANT, BUT ESPECIALLY IN FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS, THAT CROSS CONTAMINATION MAY HAPPEN WITH OTHER PRODUCTS.
The safest thing to do is to check the ingredient list or allergen pamphlet at the fast food restaurant every time you go. Fast food restaurants are known to add, change, or update products often and updates to our site may not always happen as quickly as they change. We do our best to provide the most accurate information possible.
While we did our absolute best to make sure this information is accurate, based on research, we cannot guarantee correctness.
This information was obtained from the restaurant chain websites, customer service, or other printed data. We have listed the foods that were identified by the respective fast food chains as not containing animal ingredients, and wherever possible, those that have also been noted as high risk for cross-contamination. However, as a third-party reporter, we do not and cannot guarantee their accuracy. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you see information that is not up to date.
This list only covers US based restaurants. Please note that even if you have one of these restaurants in your country, the ingredients may differ.
Lastly, we have not verified sugar sources (for bone char free sugar) and do include items that have palm sugar. If this is a concern for you, we recommend reaching out to the company directly.

MAKE IT AT HOME!
We have a recipe for our own vegan copycat chipotle sofritos bowls! Check it out!
Here’s Chipotle’s Vegan Menu:
To start, you can order a bowl, flour tortilla (soft- taco or burrito size) or hard taco shells.
Inside you can get:
- Cilantro-Lime Rice – White or Brown
- Black Beans
- Pinto Beans
- Fajitas Vegetables
- Sofritos
- Fresh Tomato Salsa (mild flavor)
- Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa (medium flavor)
- Tomatillo Green-Chili Salsa (medium-hot flavor)
- Tomatillo Red-Chili Salsa (hottest flavor)
- Lettuce Blend
- Guacamole
*New Fall 2021: Some Chipotle test locations are trying out vegan chorizo. This is not available in all locations and only for a limited time.
- Sides
- Tortilla Chips
- Guacamole
- Salsas
Our Chipotle Order
We order a burrito bowl with brown rice. Then ask for both black and pinto beans. Get the Sofritas and fajitas veggies. Then ask for fresh tomato salad (this is like a pico de gallo) and the medium salsa, corn salsa, lettuce, and guacamole.
*Note, guacamole costs extra!
Tip: Burrito bowls are the better option because you can get more in a bowl than in a burrito shell. It’s usually enough for our family of 4 (two small children) to just order two bowls and split them. We usually get this to go and grab a bag of tortilla chips at the store to save money. If we are eating in the store you can get a bag of chips for an addition cost or ask for taco shells on the side (some will give to you for free or others charge $0.25 per shell)
