Does Daiya Oat Cream Cheese melt?
Yes!!!! The new Daiya oat cream cheese melts so much better. The cheese (all products) melt easily, without any manipulation like you may have been previously been used to doing.
Whether you sprayed it with water or oil, sat it at room temperature first, or tried steaming it, you don’t need to do that with these products.

Overall Thoughts
There’s a few things that we want to call out.
- We absolutely love this compared to the last two variations of Daiya. While we did like the chickpea flour alternatives, we have found that this new oat cream version is the best yet!
- There is not a super sticky mouth feel to these which is great.
- There was no weird after taste with any of the products.
- We love that the line expanded.
- The cheese sticks are superior to any vegan cheese sticks that have been on the market.
- We do not feel like that there is really any difference in the flavored shreds versions that we tried (Italian, Mexican blends, etc). It seemed pointless to us that there were so many when they tasted the same.
- The prices are still on par with their last products so not an increase, which is great!
- The melt on these was amazing!
- We truly hope that Daiya changes all their products (cream cheese, mac and cheese, cheese sauces, etc) to the new oat cream versions over time as we feel like this version is just so much better.
- We love to see Daiya expand to other products using this base like cottage cheese, feta, and maybe some softer cheese blocks, wheels.
