Lidl has a good amount of vegan products! Today we’re talking about vegan products at Lidl that we’ve recently found.

Being quite honest, there’s a lot that we don’t know about Lidl. It’s a newer grocery store to our area and while we’ve had one within the area for a few years, it was still an hour away in a direction we don’t normally visit. Until recently that is when more in our area have been opening up much closer to us. Now we’re going to share with you some of the things we found on our recent visit.

Our goal for this particular video was to find items that were exclusive to Lidl, non-produce or things like potato chips that you can get everywhere.

We were surprised at how little we found honestly. Many stores are labeling vegan items on shelves and on the products themselves, but there were very few at Lidl that actually did this.

Going into the store, we were also very excited to try to get something from the fresh bakery. While Lidl is much like Aldi in many ways, the fresh bakery sets them clearly apart. However, there was no one working there and no food labels or allergens on any of the products, so ultimately we didn’t purchase anything.

We share prices and of course our thoughts.

In total we were able to find 16 things. And we tasted them all!

Read on to figure out our thoughts and make sure to watch the video for our taste test reactions.

HOW DO YOU FIND VEGAN PRODUCTS AT LIDL?

Since many of the items were not labeled, we resorted to checking the ingredients of many items in the store.

We did also check out the app the Lidl has that you can type in “vegan” and items come up; however, the particular store we visited didn’t have many of the items listed on the app.

And then we did find a few things that were labeled vegan or non-dairy.

Because we had so many items, we split them up in the video into breakfast, lunch/dinner and snack/dessert.

Below we will combine all the same categories by photo and item.

There are no ingredients listed on the store’s website so we won’t list them below but the products’ allergens are discussed in the video for each.

    VEGAN BREAKFAST ITEMS AT LIDL

    • Apple Museli Bars
      • Price: $1.69
      • Opinion: We loved these! They were soft but crunchy at the same time and infused with apple flavors!
    • Chocolate Almond Milk
      • Price: $1.79
      • Opinion: It was good, especially for the price; however, we wouldn’t say it was our favorite chocolate almond milk that we’ve ever had.
    • Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls
      • Price: $2.99
      • Opinion: These were decent! We liked them a lot and we were perfect for just a quick pop in the oven.

    VEGAN CONDIMENTS AT LIDL

    • Spicy Ketchup
      • Price: $1.78
      • Opinion: This is definitely spicy, however really good! Perfect for anything that you’d normally use ketchup.
    • Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Sauce
      • Price: $0.99
      • Opinion: This was actually great. It’s great for a dip but would also be great for vegetables, tofu, and so much more.

    VEGAN SNACK ITEMS AT LIDL

    • Almond Date Bites
      • Price: $5.99
      • Opinion: To be a 2 ingredient product, we thought these were okay, but the price is definitely a deterrent for us overall even though we understand why.
    • Peanut Crunchers
      • Price: $
      • Opinion: These were one of our favorite things in the whole video. They were the perfect combination of salty and savory and we’d definitely buy these over and over again.
    • Organic Dark Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
      • Price: $
      • Opinion: This was one of the only things that we said absolutely not too. Neither of us liked these.

    VEGAN LUNCH/DINNER ITEMS AT LIDL

    • Vegetable Mini Egg Rolls
      • Price: $4.99
      • Opinion: We were surprised to find these didn’t contain egg at all. They were a great side/appetizers/lunch option and we liked them a lot.
    • Vegan Quinoa Salad
      • Price: $1.89
      • Opinion: We thought this would be good for traveling. It did taste just like some marinara sauce on quinoa but overall it was good
    • Vegan Veggie Burgers
      • Price: $2.99
      • Opinion: These were actually great. They had an awesome texture on the outside without being overly mushy on the inside. It was especially good with the spicy ketchup from above
    • Classic Vegan Meatless Meatballs
      • Price: $3.89
      • Opinion: Compared to other store bought vegan meatballs that we’ve tried, we actually liked the texture on these a lot. They seemed to hold up well and not super mushy.
    • Vegetable Gyoza
      • Price: $2.99
      • Opinion: We’ve had similar products to this before and each time it seems like the cooking instructions aren’t that great and they lead to overly soft or mushy food that we then have to try to say so it’s still edible; however, these cooked perfectly.

    VEGAN DESSERT ITEMS AT LIDL

    • Dairy free Cookie Dough Non Dairy Frozen Dessert
      • Price: $2.99
      • Opinion: We thought this one was overly coconutty in flavor, but it was still okay. Ultimately we said that there are many other options available that taste better, but it’s a good price.
    • Dairy free Salted Caramel Non Dairy Frozen Dessert
      • Price: $2.99
      • Opinion: Not as much coconut flavor as the above, but all the same sentiments otherwise.
    • Strawberry Flavored Fruit Bars
      • Price: $3.19
      • Opinion: We loved this! One of our favorite things in the whole video and something we’d definitely pick up again.

I would like to know if vegan ice cream sticks coated with dark chocolate are safe for me. I suffer from IBS and eat a fodmap diet. What is used to sweeten the icecream?

You’d have to consult a doctor to see if it’s safe for you
