We tried 16 different vegan eggnog brands and we’re ranking them by which one is best! See our results and learn more!
If you were a fan of eggnog before going vegan or dairy free/egg free, you may be thinking there’s not even an option. Luckily, there are plenty of vegan eggnog brands out there now.
And we’ve grabbed all the ones that we could find in order to tell you which one we think tastes best.
Now, if you have already tried some of these, we do realize that some people’s taste buds are different than ours, so full disclosure, you may not agree with us.
However, we really just want to be able to provide a baseline of what people should expect.
We should all be able to agree on thickness or thinness of the vegan eggnog and that was one of the factors that we graded on during our vegan eggnog taste test.
The other factor that we looked at was the taste. And this is where we know we may see some differing opinions.
So let’s get right to our opinions and see if your favorite (if you have one already) made the cut for us!
Note: We originally did this taste test in December 2019 and only found 5 brands. The updated version for 2022 had 16 and we know of at least 2 more we couldn’t find.

Location: Califia Farms Store Locator
Ingredients: Almondmilk (Filtered Water, Almonds), Cane Sugar, Natural Flavor, Calcium Carbonate, Fruit and Vegetable Juice for Color, Sunflower Lecithin, Ginger, Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, Guar Gum, Nutmeg.

Chobani Oat Nog
Price: $4.39
Location: Chobani Store locator
Ingredients: Oat blend (water, whole grain oats), cane sugar, rapeseed oil, contains 2% or less of: natural flavors, sea salt, calcium carbonate, gellan gum, dipotassium phosphate.
Thoughts: It’s more watered down than the creamier ones; however, this tastes like a spiced oat milk. It doesn’t taste like egg nog. We like this one for the flavor but it’s not egg nog.
Allergens: No top allergens listed.
Elmhurst Oat Nog
Price: $5.49
Location: Elmhurst Store locator
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Whole Grain Oats, Cashews, Cane Sugar, Natural Flavors, Salt
Thoughts: We thought this would be super creamy with the oats and cashews, but it isn’t. Not as thick as you want eggnog to be but don’t mind the taste overall.
Allergens: Cashews.

Location: Milkadamia does not list their Nog on the website. We found at Sprouts.
Ingredients: Macadamia Milk (Filtered Water, Macadamias), Cane Sugar, Calcium Phosphate, Guar Gum, Natural Flavors, Sunflower Lecithin, Sea Salt, Gellan Gum, Vitamin D2.
Thoughts: It’s thicker than the almond based ones but still not super thick and the overall taste of egg nog just isn’t there for us, but it’s not a horrible choice if that’s all you can find.
Allergens: Macadamia Nuts, Sunflowers

Misunderstood Whiskey Oat Nog
Price: $25.99
Location: Misunderstood Whiskey Store Locator
Ingredients: will update if/when the company responds to our request
Allergens: will update if/when the company responds to our request
Thoughts: If you loved traditional whiskey based egg nog we thick you will love this one, but it is definitely alcohol based (strong whiskey flavor). It isn’t super thick so if you prefer a creamier egg nog, you may prefer to mix in one of our top options.
Note: This does contain alcohol. Please drink responsibly.
Which brings us to our winner!
We were surprisingly shocked by our results. It was interesting to see where things fell when tasting so many when we didn’t really have much to go off of 3 years ago. Things have changed a lot.
Here’s our Top 3:
- Natural by Nature/Sprouts – We honestly think these are the same two products just with different labels, so they are Tied for first place.
- Our #2 spot goes to So Delicious. This was our Number 1 in 2019, and was nudge out with stiff competition
- Spot 3- Trader Joes
- Spot 4 – Target
If you buy 3 or 4 you will definitely want to add a bit more of your own spices to it.
That rounds out our Top 5 brands that we think you should buy!
If you prefer an Almond Based one – then we recommend you buy Almond Breeze.

I bought the nog from Sprouts, but neither my friend nor I could drink it. There was a weird taste to it, which I recognized as the bitterness from turmeric as soon as I read the ingredients.
So I bought the SoDelicious nog, and at first sip it was exactly like dairy eggnog (friend and I both eat dairy, but others in our lives do not). The only knock on it was that it was a little thin. My friend added a small splash of Country Crock’s Plant Cream to the cup, and it totally gave it the mouth feel of eggnog. So I’m a happy camper, except for the Sprouts nog that might just go down the drain.

Glad you found one that you enjoyed. You could use the Sprouts one in some recipes so it’s not wasted. We posted a few above
