We tried 5 different vegan eggnog brands in a blind taste test! Now, we’re dishing the deets on which one we think reigns supreme.

If you were a fan of eggnog before going vegan or dairy free/egg free, you may be thinking there’s not even an option. Luckily, there are plenty of vegan eggnog brands out there now.
And we’ve grabbed all the ones that we could find in order to tell you which one we think tastes best.
Now, if you have already tried some of these, we do realize that some people’s taste buds are different than ours, so full disclosure, you may not agree with us.
However, we really just want to be able to provide a baseline of what people should expect.
We should all be able to agree on thickness or thinness of the vegan eggnog and that was one of the factors that we graded on during our vegan eggnog taste test.
The other factor that we looked at was the taste. And this is where we know we may see some differing opinions.
So let’s get right to our opinions and see if your favorite (if you have one already) made the cut for us!

What brands of vegan eggnog are there?
We were able to easily find 5 brands of vegan eggnog.
We know that there are more out there. Specifically, we know Good Karma makes a vegan eggnog and we also know that Trader Joe’s makes one.
However, both of those weren’t as easy to get to for us at the time of shooting.
The brands that we did find came from Aldi and Target. We were able to find the following vegan eggnog brands:
- Aldi Almond Nog
- Almond Breeze Almondmilk Nog
- Califia Almondmilk Nog
- So Delicious Coconut Milk Nog
- Silk Nog
All of the brands, except the Aldi brand, says that you should consume within 7-10 days of opening. The Aldi brand does not list a recommendation.
The So Delicious, Almond Breeze, Silk and Califia Brands all contain a Non-GMO verified label.
Are any vegan eggnog brands allergy friendly?
We talk a lot about allergies around here and that’s because we want to make sure that everyone is able to enjoy the same things.
I’m sure from reading the brands listed above, you can tell that there are allergens in every single one of them.
Unfortunately, from the brands we found, nothing is Top 8 Allergen Free.
So it really comes down to what are your allergens and what can you have.
The Aldi brand, Almond Breeze and Califia brands all contain almonds.
So Delicious contains coconut.
Silk contains soy.
They do not contain any other allergens beyond that and since they are vegan none have dairy or egg.
Can I just make homemade vegan eggnog at home?
Yes! You can use our homemade vegan eggnog recipe if you’d prefer to do that instead.

What were the results of the Vegan Eggnog Taste Test:

Califia Holiday Nog – Almondmilk
We wanted to like this one a lot.
It is carrageenan free which we know is important for a lot of people. It also had one of the lowest amount of calories at just 50 calories for 1/2 cup.
Unfortunately, the Califia Farms brands eggnog was our least favorite.
It was thin and didn’t have much flavor. One of us thought it had a citrus taste while the other thought butterscotch flavoring? Either way the taste was off compared to traditional eggnog.
The ingredients for the Califia Farms eggnog are:
Water, Almonds, Cane Sugar, Natural Flavors, Calcium Carbonate, Fruit and Vegetable Juice for Color, Ground Ginger, Sea Salt, Sunflower Lecithin, Potassium Citrate, Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum, Nutmeg.

Aldi – Friendly Farms Almond Nog
We are huge fans of Aldi so we were hopeful for this one as well.
It was decent, especially for the price, but overall in our line up of 5, it came in 4th place.
It also only has 50 calories per 1/2 cup serving and is thicker than the Califia brand. But it needed some more spice.
The ingredients in the Aldi vegan eggnog are:
Water, Almonds, Cane Sugar Syrup, Natural Flavors, Fruit Juice for Color, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Gellan Gum, Sunflower Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin E Acetate, Zinc Gluconate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D2, Natural Nutmeg Flavor, Natural Ginger Extract.

Silk Nog – Original
Overall, Silk came in 3rd place for us.
We weren’t sure why it said original, and even tried looking up if there were other flavors, but it doesn’t appear that there are.
The Silk Vegan Eggnog has 80 calories per 1/2 cup serving.
We thought that it had the right flavor of eggnog but that it tasted watered down. It also had a thin consistency.
The ingredients in. Silk Nog Vegan eggnog are:
Water, Soybeans, Cane Sugar, Locust Bean Gum, Sea Salt, Rum, Natural Flavor, Turmeric, and Annatto.
This is the only one out of the 5 that actually lists rum as an ingredient. It does say that it is less than 0.5% of it as an ingredient and it’s not listed as having any alcohol content on the label that we could see, but we did want to make a note of it here.

Blue Diamond – Almond Breeze almondmilk nog
This was our 2nd favorite brand.
It was thicker than the other ones and was flavored correctly. If you watch the video, we thought this was going to be the clear winner.
Andrew did think that there was a bit of an after taste, but Larisha didn’t.
This brand Is also carrageenan free according to the label. The label also says that it is made in a peanut free facility.
There are 70 calories per 1/2 cup serving in the Almond Breeze vegan eggnog.
The ingredients in the Almond Breeze Vegan eggnog are:
Water, Almonds, Cane Sugar, Rice Starch, Natural Flavors, Calcium Carbonate, Guar Gum, Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, Fruit and Vegetable Juice (color), Sunflower Lecithin, Gellan Gum, Spice.

So Delicious Coconutmilk Holiday Nog
Which brings us to our winner!
It was clear pretty quickly that this was going to be the winner.
It’s thick just like traditional eggnog, the aroma is great and the spices are on point.
Neither of us thought this had a strong coconut flavor, but of course you may think otherwise.
The calories per 1/2 cup serving for So Delicious vegan eggnog is 90 calories, making it the most out of the other brands, but we also expected that with coconut cream in the ingredients list.
The ingredients in the So Delicious Vegan Eggnog are:
Water, Coconut Cream, Cane Sugar, Sea Salt, Guar Gum, Nutmeg, Natural Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Annatto Extract (color).
This one didn’t have a lot of ingredients compared to some of the others which other made it nice.
