Last month, we launched our Plant Based Culinary Club Challenge as a way to connect with our readers in a different way and also give back to you and our community.

The Culinary Club Challenge is designed to be a super simple, but fun, way for us to join together readers from all over the world with one simple task – make the “recipe of the month”.

Andrew and I will choose a recipe, you will make it, and then leave a comment on the blog post. After the month is over, we’ll randomly select a winner and they (Hopefully you!) will win a prize.

Last month we kicked off our club with Sofritas, and this month we’re going to do things a little bit differently! August is Andrew’s birthday month – shout out to the other Leo’s out there (August 6th to be specific).

In honor of his birthday, we’re celebrating by letting you make ANYTHING on our website that is CHOCOLATE. If you know Andrew well, then you know that his absolute favorite thing is our easy vegan chocolate chip cookies. We make them almost weekly! But in general, if it’s chocolate, it has his name on it.

Join us for an epic challenge!

On the first Thursday of every month we’ll announce the Recipe of the Month. Sign up for our newsletter, so you’re the first to know moving forward.

Gather your ingredients and make the recipe each month!

By August 31st at 11:59pm EST, go to the chocolate recipe post that you’re making and leave a comment. (NOT ON THIS POST!)

For a bonus entry, email us at [email protected] and share a photo of what you made.

Bonus entry #2 – post your photo creation on your Instagram (must be public) and tag @makeitdairyfree and/or @thenarddogcooks with the hashtag #PBCCC

All entries are 1 point.

For this month only, you can get bonus entries above for EACH chocolate recipe that you make from our website. For example – if you make chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies and leave a comment on both, you’ll get 2 entries. If you make both, leave comments on both and email us a photo of both, then you’ll get 4 entries, and so on.

The Prize:

A $100 Giftcard to the Grocery Store

Yes, you read that right! There’s a chance for you to earn actual money.

At the end of the month, we’ll randomly choose one winner and you’ll be able to tell us which grocery store that you’d like a digital giftcard too. *Note: it must be a grocery store that has the option for a digital giftcard to be sent.

We’ll also be donating $1 for every entry we have to Cathedral Kitchen.

August’s Recipe: Chocolate!

You can hit the search bar at the top of your screen and just type in chocolate! Then a list will generate for you and you can pick the recipe of your choice. We absolutely love chocolate around here, so there’s plenty of chocolate recipes for you to choose from!

In case you need some inspiration though, here’s our Top 8 chocolate recipes!

Here’s how to enter:

Last Month’s Recipe and Winner

Last month we made sofritas! This was our first month of doing this, and we got 2 entries. We hope as the idea reaches more people, that we will get many more. We are still choosing to donate $25 to Cathedral Kitchen. Thank you to our two entrants, we appreciate you more than you know!

How to comment:

In case you’ve never commented on a blog post before, there are two ways to do it.
