WE TASTE TESTED THE 3 PRODUCTS FROM OMNIPORK! WE’RE DISHING OUT ALL THE DETAILS ON WHICH IS THE BEST IN OUR VEGAN OMNIPORK REVIEW AND TASTE TEST!
We have seen the Omnipork brand in our local stores for a few months now, but we’ll be the first to admit that we were quite nervous to try a product like this. But finally we did and we’re dishing all the details in this Omnipork review (and taste test).
Maybe because there aren’t a lot of vegan pork products on the market, so it’s hard to even have a comparison if a brand can get close to the animal based product on not, but we were excited to try and figure it out.
If you haven’t seen our other taste tests, we hope you’ll check those out as well.

We know that everyone has different taste buds. What we may think is the best, may completely vary from what you actually like.
You may ultimately think our best is the worst and that’s okay. We created this video as hopefully a starting point for people and we can only go off our opinion.

What vegan pork products does OmniPork make?
Currently Omnipork makes 3 different products:
- OmniPork Luncheon – this is a spam type of product
- OmniPork Strips – this is like a pulled pork type of product
- OmniPork Ground – soft and crumbly just like traditional ground meat
We are unsure if Omnipork plans to launch more products or not, but it will be interesting to watch and see!
How did we do the vegan OmniPork taste test?
It was really quite simple.
We cooked each vegan product according to the packaged instructions and then ate them as close to the finishing time as possible for the most accuracy.
We were looking for mostly taste and texture.
Where do you buy OmniPork?
Currently in the US, you can find the products at Sprouts and some at Whole Foods. This is an international brand that just released recently into the US. Sprouts has all three products, whereas Whole Foods currently only has the Strips and Ground.
How much does OmniPork cost?
All of the products from from $5.99-6.99. It does appear that there are sometimes sales on the products to make them slightly cheaper to check for that.
OmniPork Luncheon Review (Vegan Spam Review)
Thoughts: To be honest, neither of us really remembered what spam tasted like prior to going vegan. We know that we both had it in the past, but weren’t sure what that specific flavoring was. That being said, we really enjoyed this product. It had a really great taste and texture. It was soft and tender will still having a bit of a crisp to the outside.
It was also really easy to cook. It took less than 5 minutes to make and you cook it straight from being frozen.
Ingredients: Water, Protein Blend(Soy Protein Concentrate, Vital Wheat Gluten, Soy Protein Isolate), Coconut Oil, Yeast Extract, Thickeners (Methylcellulose, Gum Arabic), Potato Starch, Natural Flavour, Salt, Sunflower Oil, Maltodextrin, Anticaking Agent (Silicon Dioxide), Natural Colour (Beet Red), Antioxidents (Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid).
Top 9 Allergens: Soy, Coconut, Wheat.
OmniPork Strips Review (Vegan Pork Strips Review)
Thoughts: This product was also great, but on a scale, it was the least favorite for Larisha. We assumed this product was supposed to be a mock “pulled pork” and she would have liked to see smaller shreds. Andrew said that he didn’t mind them, but maybe if there were differences in the size of the shreds it would mock “pulled pork” more since there are different sizes when you shred yourself.
Still, the taste, texture, and feel once cooked were delicious. We paired this with our homemade vegan bbq sauce.
Again it was really easy to cook. This one did require that it be thawed out prior to cooking.
Ingredients: Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Sunflower Oil, Yeast Extract, Salt, Sugar, Wheat Starch, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate), Thickener (Maltodextrin), Natural Flavour, Natural Colour (Beet Red), White Pepper, Barley Malt Extract.
Top 9 Allergens: Soy, Wheat.
OmniPork Ground Review (Vegan Ground Pork Review)
Thoughts: We again truly enjoyed this product as well. It doesn’t look the best when cooking, but it cooks up to be soft, delicious ground crumble. It would be very easy to use this in many recipes and to season as desired for whatever you are using it in.
Again it was really easy to cook. Also required that it be thawed out prior to cooking.
Ingredients: Water, Soy Protein Concentrate, Methylcellulose, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, Potato Starch, Salt, Sugar, Soy Protein Isolate, Barley Malt Extract, Beet Powder (For Color), Pea Protein, Rice Protein, Shiitake Mushroom Powder,Myceliated Oats.
Top 9 Allergens: Soy.
Overall Thoughts on OmniPork, OmniFoods
We were honestly shocked at how well we liked all of the products. We do feel like they are priced a bit high for the amount that you get, but understand that it’s a new product and the price may come down as people purchase it more.
We love that someone is breaking into the vegan pork industry with a great product to continue reducing harm to animals for those that enjoy pork products.
We did see that the OmniFoods company internationally has other products, like pork patties for example, so it would be awesome to eventually check out some of those products as well.
