HOW DO I SHRED JACKFRUIT?
We have only ever worked with jackfruit from a can, so we cannot speak to using fresh at this time. If we do in the future, this post will be updated.
Open your can of jackfruit (we get ours at Trader Joes) and drain and rinse the liquid from the pieces. With a knife, cut off the harden part at the bottom. The part is usually harder than the rest.
Then, begin to shred the remaining piece of the jackfruit, like you would do if it was pulled pork or chicken.
There are seeds (look like small round pods) inside the jackfruit that you want to discard for this recipe or look up ways to use them as they are edible.
What you should be left with are small pieces of what resembles shredded meat similar to the photo above.
How to you make vegan buffalo chicken dip with jackfruit?
This is one of those recipes where it’s weird calling it a recipe because it’s so easy.
To start, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut and shred jackfruit according to directions above.
In a large bowl or directly into the oven safe dish you’ll be baking in, add all your ingredients and mix until very well combined. Make sure that the cream cheese has been combined well.
Spread into one even layer. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly on the outside.
What goes well with vegan buffalo chicken dip?
You can get super creative with a spread to dip inside your buffalo jackfruit dip. Some of our favorites are:
- crackers
- veggies like pepper strips or celery
- tortilla chips
- sliced and toasted baguette
- pitas shell slices
What do you like?
Can I prep this vegan buffalo chicken dip ahead of time?
It’s really really delicious right out of the oven. However, it does heat up well. You can pop it back into the oven or you can scoop some out and heat it in a microwave.
It does get thick, so stir to combine in between cooking intervals.
Store any leftovers in an air tight container.
Can this be Top 8 Allergen Free Buffalo Dip?
Yes it can be.
The way our recipe is written the biggest concern is coconut. It is in a few of the recommended ingredients we say to use for this recipe, but there are ways around.
Specifically use our homemade ranch dressing instead of buying one and make sure to pick a vegan cheese without coconut.
What brands do you recommend for this vegan buffalo chicken dip with jackfruit?
We absolutely love our homemade ranch dressing.
However, If you don’t want to make that we tested this recipe using Wayfare’s vegan ranch and their cream cheese.
We know Wayfare can still be hard to find, so if you aren’t able to we would recommend Violife.
We also tried making this dish with Follow Your Heart and Violife cheese and didn’t notice a huge difference so we’d recommend one of those.

Wow. You guys never fail me. I made this as a Thanksgiving appetizer for my non-vegan family and it was a huge hit! They’ve asked me to make it again for Christmas and I can’t wait. They couldn’t believe it was vegan. I highly recommend this recipe to anyone. I followed your homemade vegan ranch recipe and that was the best decision. The ranch made with fresh chives and dill definitely made it extra special. I used Tofutti cream cheese because my Wegman’s was out of the Wayfare cream cheese but I’ll try to buy that next time I make this because it might be even better.

So happy that it was such a hit!

One of the best vegan buffalo Dips I have had! So glad I found it and made it. Please recommend a store bought ranch I used kite hill for this and before I added it I tasted it and I kind of didn’t like it. But I had no choice at that point! Still good thank you again!
