Can I make this oil free vegan tartar sauce?

The mayo in this recipe makes this not oil free; however, there are always ways around that.

For starters, you could easily just blend the remaining ingredients with an avocado. Avocados give the same creaminess as mayo and so it’s a great natural switch.

The only difference is that naturally avocados are green and so the sauce won’t be white.

Using avocados, along with homemade pickles would then also make this recipe raw vegan approved.

Another option would be to look up a recipe for homemade vegan mayo using cashews or tofu for another oil free option.

This was surprisingly good! We loved the tart from the capers and used our own cut up pickles for relish! Seriously, it was super good!
