How to Roast Garlic

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Remove any excess paper around the garlic, but do not peel the layer around the cloves.
  • Cut off the top ¼ of the bulb to expose the cloves.
  • Place the bulb in a piece of foil.
  • Drizzle the olive oil over the top.
  • Fold the foil up around the garlic and twist at the top to seal.
  • Place on a baking sheet and cook for 40 minutes or until a knife easily pierces through.
    *Time depends on size and type of garlic.
  • Remove and let cool to touch.
  • Push up on the garlic cloves or squeeze them to get out.
  • Use immediately or place in an air tight container for 3-4 days.
