Baked Vegan Teriyaki Cauliflower Wings

These crispy baked vegan teriyaki cauliflower wings are absolutely delicious. Perfectly crispy on the outside while still being soft and tender inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets (about 2.5lbs)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour (use 1:1 Gluten Free blend if needed)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup non-dairy milk (more as needed to make a thick pancake batter)
  • 1-2 cups vegan panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 15 oz bottle Teriyaki sauce (use your favorite)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F/ 230C. Rinse cauliflower and dry very well. Cut into florets.
  • In a bowl, add flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and non-dairy milk. Whisk together very well. In another bowl add the breadcrumbs. Place bowls side by side.
  • Add a cauliflower floret to the wet mixture and move around to coat everything evenly. Let excess batter run off. Next, dip and cover the cauliflower in breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet.
  • Repeat until all florets are coated and placed on baking sheet, making sure to not overcrowd your baking sheet.
  • Place baking sheet in the oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and toss wings in teriyaki sauce, then bake for another 5-10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Alternative Cooking Methods
To Fry: Heat 1-2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat (About 350 degrees F). Fry the cauliflower in batches for 4-5 minutes or until golden and crisp on all sides. Remove and drain on a wire rack with paper towels underneath.
To Airfry: After coating, air fryer in batches for 10-15 minutes at 425 degrees F or until crispy on all sides.
